The following artwork was commissioned by Bill,
the owner of Jakes Restaurant, where they hang today.
If you love anything to do with the Chesapeake Bay come to JAKES on RT 1 where
you'll see a "little bit of the Bay" on the walls and taste it's bounty from the menu.
The Pride of Baltimore and Pops Motor Launch hang over the front entrance and
are larger than the 7 others.
Pops
Motor Launch is actually Bill's Grandfathers boat which motored on the Chesapeake Bay. Presrving history for the family,
one photo survived to use as a guide for this painting.
The
artwork was painted on 22" X 28" 1/4" MDO plywood, with yellow background, blue border and nautical brass
screws holding them on the wall.
Drawings
and photographs for the artwork were found in 6 books about the Chesapeake Bay.
